April 29, 2026 – Get Acquainted Hike
6:00 pm, Taos Countryside Park
Join us for a short hike on the paved/maintained trails at Countryside Park in Taos! Meet near the pavilion.
The park is at 4909 Countryside Park Rd. From Jefferson City, take Highway 50/63-East to the Taos exit (Route M). Turn right and drive about 1/2 mile. Turn left into the park.
Bring plenty of water, a light snack, and bug spray.
May 1, 2026 – 2026 Trails Less Travelled Challenge
Join us and JC Parks for this year’s Trails Less Travelled Challenge! Hike or bike 8 different JC Parks trails during the month of May. For each trail, submit a selfie with the trail card on the trail to JC Parks for the prize drawing on June 1, 2026. Each selfie is one entry.
Registration is free; participants can snag a limited edition 2026 JC Parks ball cap for $15. Choose either the Trail Traveller or Accessible Adventure card during registration.

May 2, 2026 – Community Hike
9:00 am, Frog Hollow Eastern Loop
Join us for a rough-terrain hike through the woods of about 1-mile around the eastern loop of the Frog Hollow Trail! Or, opt for the accessible, family friendly stroll on the paved greenway along W. Edgewood. Meet at the bridge by the parking lot at 2953 W. Edgewood Drive.
Bring bug spray, a light snack, and plenty of water.
May 3, 2026 – Superskills Session + Ride Girls Mountain Bike Skills Clinic
2:00 – 4:00 pm, Binder Lake Park
A free mountain bike skills clinic for girls entering middle school and high school (6th-12th grade) to build confidence, learn fundamental riding skills, and have fun in a supportive, female-led environment! The clinic is led by NICA-certified women and members of the local mountain bike team, the Central Missouri Lumberjacks, and will teach basic mountain bike skills followed by skill-building games and short trail ride.
Participants must bring a bike and a helmet. Both riders and a parent/legal guardian must sign a JC Parks waiver during check-in. At the start of the clinic, bikes will be checked for safety, including working brakes (no coaster brakes), proper seat height, and air pressure.
Meet at the old bait shop on the lake. Bring plenty of water and bug spray.
May 13, 2026 – Monthly Meeting
5:00 pm, Last Flight Brewing Co.
Join us for our monthly meeting. All are welcome! Last Flight Brewing Co. is located at 738 Heisinger Road. Meeting will be outside if weather permits.
June 7, 2026 – Community Hike
1:30 pm, Riverside Park – Lewis and Clark State Office Building
Join us for a 2-mile out-and-back hike between Riverside Park and the Lewis and Clark State Office Building. The main group will hike out on the rough gravel trail through the woods and return on the greenway. Or, choose the family-friendly accessible paved greenway trail for both legs! Meet at the parking lot at 1505 Riverside Drive.
Bring bug spray, a light snack, and plenty of water.
July 12, 2026 – Community Hike
7:00 pm, McKay Lake Park
Join us for an evening stroll around the .6-mile family-friendly accessible paves McKay Lake trail. Complete as many loops as you want! Meet at the parking lot that is closest to the dam, at the end of Sunset lake Road.
Bring bug spray, a light snack, and plenty of water.
August 2, 2026 – Community Hike
7:00 pm, Serenity Point/Noren Access – North Jefferson
Join us for an evening stroll for a short .25-mile on the nature trail to Turkey Creek. Meet at the Noren Access parking lot, below the Highway 62/54 river bridge at the end of Cottonwood Street in North Jefferson. Follow the Missouri Department of Conservation signs for the Noren Access.
Bring bug spray, a light snack, and plenty of water.
